The Grand Touring is the one you want if ultimate range is your objective. Lucid will offer the Air in two trims for its spring 2021 launch: the Grand Touring and the Dream Edition. Lucid claims a drag coefficient of just 0.21-0.03 less than a Tesla Model S. The back half of the car is a bit awkward from some angles, but that sleek single taillight strip is nice to look at. That means a low-slung fascia with what the company calls a 'Micro Lens Array' system that it says is composed of 'literally thousands' of 'light channels.' They're essentially really fancy, futuristic pop-up headlights that open sideways in a row. The Air's exterior hasn't changed much since its initial launch in 2016. When connected to a DC fast charger, the Air can replenish 300 miles of range in just 20 minutes. The company promises those ultra-quick quarter-mile times aren't just a one-and-done affair per charge-they're consistent and repeatable. Lucid says it put in over 20 million miles of real-world development testing in-house to design the battery pack. In addition to being able to dash the 0-60 sprint in just 2.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in as low as 9.9 seconds at 144 mph, the car can also deliver an EPA-estimated range of 517 miles.
